Oh Hai! (and other forms of LOLspeak)

(flickr tag: lolcats)
I was trying to do some research on the origins of “LOLcats” and “cheezburger,” but after reading just a small set of articles, my brain started to hurt. These articles are full of examples, such as:
“i has dialect”
“im in ur fridge, eatin ur foodz”
“i’m in ur newspaper writin mah colum”
“oh hai! i fixted ur pilloh”
But what really did me in was a thing called LOLcode. Here are just a couple samples:
HAI
CAN HAS STDIO?
VISIBLE "HAI WORLD!"
KTHXBYE
HAI
I HAS A VAR
VAR IZ 10 O RLY?
YA RLY
VISIBLE "YOU HAVE 10"
NO WAI
VISIBLE "YOU DON'T HAVE 10"
KTHXBYE
KTHXBYE
So, I was going to write a full blog post, but I don’t think my brain can handle looking at any more LOLspeak.
