Screenshots: Programmer-speak, flow, and WTF

“The null links below are simply for tab navigation on this page” says the note toward the top of this website. The designer clearly tried to be helpful by explaining two things: 1) text that appears to be a link may not actually go anywhere, and 2) you can use those links for keyboard navigation with the tab key. However, instead of helping the user, I think this text actually only creates confusion. “Null links”? “Tab navigation”? Clearly this is written by and for programmers.

It took me a while to figure this one out. Something is definitely messed up with the layout on this site — try to follow the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4. It does create an interesting sense of chaos, though.

Firefox apparently wants me to save a password, but I don’t see a password field anywhere. WTF? I wonder if this is a Google Desktop or a Firefox bug.
