Unfortunate cover design
When I first saw the cover for the book Illuminating the Path: The Research and Development Agenda for Visual Analytics, it made me laugh. The first thing that comes to mind when I see it is that it’s some kind of spiritual book. Illuminating the path to… enlightenment? spirituality? I did a search on Amazon for “Illuminating the Path” and the first few results were:
- Living Spirituality: Illuminating the Path
- Light For My Path: Illuminating Selections From the Bible
- Illuminating the Path to Enlightenment
- Illuminating the path of freedom: Teachings of the Very Venerable Kalu Rinpoche
- Illuminating the Path 2000, Teachings for a New Beginning (a Commentary on Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment and Lines of Experience)
You’d think that people who are well versed in displays of visual information would catch this obvious blunder. At least this book is not geared toward the general public.
